- Outdoor Use: Place under covered decks and use furniture covers to protect from elements. Store indoors during inclement weather to maintain longevity.
- Sun Exposure: Due to its jet-black color, avoid direct sunlight, as it may become warm. Ensure the stone is cool before sitting.
- Water Protection: Use felt pads and coasters to prevent moisture transfer and discoloration.
- Maintenance: Periodically re-wax with a paraffin-based stone floor wax. Apply wax before winter if used outdoors. Treat hairline cracks promptly with a thick coat of wax to prevent moisture damage.
- Additional Tips: Cover and elevate off the ground. Avoid contact with acidic substances to maintain wax protection and stain resistance.
